Type of Chocolate

Look at this chocolate type (found via The Ministry of Type). I can think of so many uses for chocolate like this: party favors, thank you, valentine message . . .

Want of the Week

We've been looking at a buying new couch (light aqua blue) and these patterned pillows would be a good contrast. I'm putting them on my wish list for later. You can find them online at the Etsy store Kalla. Click Here for a visit.

Technical Difficulties

I am "tweaking" the code . . . this page may look a little odd.

Simple Letterpress Announcement

Here is another example of some nice letterpress work. Again, I pulled this from a stack of samples so I am unsure as to who the pressman is or the designer—I'd like to give them credit. But it's lovely isn't it? What do you think?

Printing with Blurb

A short while ago my book arrived from Blurb, a printing service I found online. (Check it out, it has free software for both MAC and PC so you can custom create your book. You upload your design, they print it, and it is delivered it to your doorstep.) Since I don't enjoy scrapbooking, I decided to try Blurb out. It was easy and pricing is fair! I thought I would share a few pages. . . .

Fall Announcement

I just received a wedding announcement from a friend and fellow designer—she did a fantastic job. The letterpressing was done by Rob at Tryst Press—great to work with and a very good craftsman. And I'm pretty sure the paper is Cranes Lettra . . . so, so, nice.

DIY: Tags

Just as I was about to go live with my new Etsy store I found out about tag requirements for textiles. After scouring the internet for a good deal, I realized I can make my own tags for now—no screen printing or special embroidery machine necessary.

Here's How:
Because tags are tiny, you can use scraps of fabric and iron on transfers to make them. Remember to flip your image so that everything reads backwards—when you iron it on the image will be in reverse. With my design I can get 32 tags out of one sheet of transfer paper.
